Middleware Administrator

 

Provides all activities related to the administration of Middleware Administration. Projects long-range requirements for database administrators and design in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function. Installs, designs, creates, and maintains Middleware solutions in a client/server environment. Conducts quality control and auditing of Middleware installations in a client/server environment to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data. Advises users on access to Middleware applications. Deploys user applications in the Middleware installation. Works with Application developers to ensure connectivity to databases. Applies knowledge and experience with database technologies, development methodologies, and front-end programming languages (e.g., SQL). Performs database programming and supports systems design. Includes maintenance of database dictionaries, adherence to standards and procedures, and integration of systems through database design

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supports the implementation and middleware administration for AMPS.
  • Administers, coordinates, and supports the initiation of patches and STIGs in all middleware components and applications.
  • Creates and maintains configuration documentation and provides application administration for new and existing middleware components.
  • Works with the cybersecurity SME to research new security threats and maintain security standards on the application servers.
  • Uses middleware monitoring tools to monitor, secure, install, upgrade, configure, measure, and maintain application server integrity through active analyses of performance measures. Responds to incidents timely.
  • Implements application configuration changes to ensure maximum availability and performance. Monitors application logs for anomalous activity (hack attempts, service failures, system outages, etc.).
  • Develops tests and procedures to regularly assess the health of database schemas; takes corrective measures where appropriate.
  • Collaborates with technical team to troubleshoot and resolve database and application access and availability issues and to identify and resolve data integrity issues related to failed operating system and/or database jobs.
  • i.e. create accounts, assign database roles and/or Object Identifier (OID) group membership, reset passwords, and troubleshoot database privilege issues).
  • Applies application software patches and upgrades to maintain product supportability and compliance with APMS  security requirements.
  • Provides design, tuning and technical troubleshooting assistance to ensure maintenance and supportability of production applications.
  • Provides technical support, maintain, and implement databases schemas for business systems and internet applications. Ensures database and middleware stability by proactively monitoring applications.

  • Must be USA Citizen.
  • Must Have and Active Secret Clearance.
  • Five (5) years progressive experience administering Middleware solutions (e.g. Oracle Fusion Middleware). Also has at least three years hands-on experience and expertise in Application deployment, testing, tuning and security. Experience also shall include capability to work on various operating systems and additional programming languages. Has experience in at least two projects in a large organization responsible for administering, operating, maintaining, and securing a large-scale applications.
  • Any of the certificates: OCP 12c (or higher), OCI Foundations 2020 (or higher), OCP WebLogic 12g (or higher); AWS CCP, OCI Foundations 2020 (or higher), Microsoft  Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, MCSE: WS2016, MCSA: WS2016, RHCE, or RHCSA.
  • Okta , OCI, Dev SEC Ops experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Current DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification is PREFERRED A+ CE /CCNA-Security / CND / Network+ CE /
  • Implementation experience of OIM.
