Senior Technical Product Manager - CISO Security Engineering

Overview

Microsoft’s CISO organization is seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager to help build the next generation of security platforms that protect Microsoft’s products, services, and customers.

In this role, you will define and deliver platform capabilities that enable security teams to develop, deploy, operate, and improve security solutions at scale. You will work at the intersection of security, cloud infrastructure, data platforms, developer experiences, and AI. You will partner closely with engineering teams and security practitioners to understand complex workflows, translate customer needs into clear product requirements, and deliver reusable platform capabilities that improve security outcomes across Microsoft.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical depth with customer-focused product leadership. You are comfortable working with engineers on architecture and platform design, engaging directly with users to understand their workflows, and bringing clarity to ambiguous product and technical decisions. You can move between long-term product strategy and detailed execution while building alignment across a complex, matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

• Define product strategy and roadmap for security platform capabilities, translating customer needs, technical opportunities, and business priorities into a clear product direction and measurable outcomes.
• Develop deep understanding of customer workflows through direct engagement with security practitioners, developers, and partner teams; identify pain points and translate them into prioritized scenarios and product requirements.
• Partner closely with engineering to design and deliver technically complex platform capabilities across areas such as cloud services, APIs, identity and access, telemetry, data platforms, developer tooling, and AI.
• Own the end-to-end product lifecycle, from requirements and technical trade-offs through preview, rollout, adoption, and continuous improvement, using customer feedback and product signals to guide decisions.
• Drive alignment and execution across teams by establishing priorities, resolving ambiguity and trade-offs, managing dependencies and risks, and communicating product decisions and progress to stakeholders.
• Shape scalable, reusable platform experiences that simplify onboarding and improve developer and security practitioner productivity, while identifying opportunities to apply AI and emerging technologies to security workflows.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
  • OR equivalent experience.

Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
  • Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This role will require access to information that is controlled for export under export control regulations, potentially under the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations or Export Administration Regulations, the EU Dual Use Regulation, and/or other export control regulations. As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide either proof of their country of citizenship or proof of their U.S. permanent residency or other protected status (e.g., under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) for assessment of eligibility to access the export controlled information. Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years of experience in product management, technical program management, software engineering, data science, product development; OR equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience defining and delivering technical products, platforms, or services in partnership with software engineering teams.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives across multiple teams in a complex organization.
• Experience building AI/ML platforms, security platforms, developer platforms, or other large-scale technical products.
• Experience working with cloud platforms and services, APIs, data, or developer tooling.
• Technical fluency, with the ability to engage with engineering teams on technical designs and trade-offs.

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
